Color-flow venous duplex ultrasound has emerged as the new gold standard for detecting and treating chronic venous insufficiency. It is comfortable, safe, and non-invasive. It’s considered so safe, in fact, that physicians routinely use it to examine a fetus during pregnancy. Performing ultrasound exams to accurately detect venous insufficiency requires considerable training and experience. Exams performed by hospitals and doctors who do not specialize in the treatment of leg-vein disease are usually inadequate for diagnosing and treating venous insufficiency. Information you will gain during your initial consultationDuring your initial consultation, Dr. Martin will want you to have all of the necessary information before you commit to treatment. Here are some of the topics he will discuss with you:
Your initial session with Dr. Martin should last about thirty to sixty minutes. At the conclusion of the exam, he will recommend treatment options, if appropriate. |
